What else can cats eat and drink?
What else can cats eat besides kibble and what can they drink besides water? I have heard of cats eating baby food and drinking smoothies. Oh, and can they drink apple juice that I made with my juicer at home. And I don’t want a list of what they can’t eat, I just want to know what they can eat.
I give my cat milk sometimes. Is it ok to give them homemade fruit juice?
Cats are carnivores; therefore, any type of meat product like chicken, turkey, or beef would be good. I like to give my cats gravy from cans as they love the juices from the canned cat food. Cats should really only drink water. If you’d like to spoil them, most cats prefer running water so you can get them one of those fancy bubblers from the pet store.
To note:
-Cats also love grass, which you can buy from the pet store too.
-Cats are lactose intolerant and milk will give them diarrhea. There is some great “cat milk” at the grocery store you can give them. Its usually located by the cat nip.
-Fish can cause bladder stones in male cats so I would avoid it.
-Fruit juices contain a lot of sugar which isn’t good for cats. I wouldn’t give it to them but if you do then you should probably dilute it by mixing it with water.
-Remember that cats aren’t people so feeding them food that deviates from a normal cat food diet will, in all likelihood, cause them the gain some weight or make them sick. You should probably ask your vet the next time you see them.
